In a bid to thwart any untoward incident around the polling stations, Karachi Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has instructed the district management to remove from the areas of polling stations all waste and garbage on emergency basis.
He issued these instructions while visiting sensitive polling stations in the metropolis on Friday. Additional Inspector General Iqbal Mehmmod and DIG West Captain Tahir Naveed accompanied the commissioner.
The commissioner also instructed the concerned staff to make arrangements for free, fair and transparent elections. No negligence would be tolerated in the poll process, he warned.
The security plan has been finalised by the law enforcement agencies in collaboration with city administration, he said, and requested the masses to immediately inform the law enforcers if they see any suspect in their surroundings.
