Contingents of Rangers, Elite Force and the Police will continue to hold Flag March in the capital today.
As many as 20 companies of the army and six of Pakistan Rangers would be deployed to maintain peace on the Election Day in Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Chakwal and Attock.
Over 1000 national volunteers will also perform election duties on May 11 in Rawalpindi district. Additionally 6,000 police personnel have been recruited on a daily wage basis for three days to meet the shortage of manpower and assist the police.
According to the spokesman of City District Government, the contingents of Pakistan Army and Rangers would also remain alert and standby to meet any kind of emergency however overall security responsibilities would be discharged by the police in the district. No one would be allowed to display arms and disturb the peaceful atmosphere, he said adding that strict action would be taken against the violators.
