75000 Army deployed across country: ISPR spokesman

The Pakistan Army has made elaborated arrangements to assist the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ensure fair, free and transparent elections.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) spokesman, more than 75000 troops have been deployed across the country.

Army troops have been posted for protection duties on five printing presses since April 19.

Army helicopters flew for 347 hours to transport 650 tons of ballot papers to polling stations in various districts.

Moreover, security cameras have been installed where needed for monitoring. Additionally, the army has provided sniffing dogs for security duties.

Aerial surveillance would be conducted for sensitive polling stations, and Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) would be used in highly sensitive areas.
