Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso on Thursday took notice of the alleged kidnapping of Ali Hyder Gilani, a son of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani from Multan.
Khoso has contacted the Punjab government and asked for immediate recovery of Hyder, who was contesting election from PP-200 Multan on a PPP ticket.
“The prime minister expressed his concerns over the incident and asked for making efforts for prompt recovery of Hyder,” an official at the PM’s House informed Pakistan Today.
Meanwhile, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Chairman Tariq Malik briefed Khoso on the authority’s arrangements for holding of free, fair and transparent elections.
“Mr Tariq Malik informed the prime minister that for the first time in the country’s history that the polls would be held through the use of modern gadgets and photographs and fingerprints of the voters would be available on the voters’ lists,” the official said.
The official said that the prime minister expressed satisfaction over the arrangements being made for the upcoming polls.
