The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has detained Lt Gen (r) Zahid Ali Akbar, former WAPDA chairman, allegedly involved in a case of making assets beyond means to the tune of Rs 267.61 million.
He was detained with the help of Interpol and is presently detained in Bosnia.
His detention has been made possible after the hectic efforts which the bureau was making for the last three months through international agencies, a press release said.
All legal formalities are being completed to bring back the former chairman WAPDA Gen (r) Zahid Ali Akbar back to Pakistan.
Reference against him for making assets beyond known sources of income was pending before the Accountability CourtLahore since July 2006. He was declared a proclaimed offender by the court on May 10, 2007.
