Musharraf’s lawyers don’t know what he wants

The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of the treason case against former military ruler General (r) Pervez Musharraf until Thursday after two of his lawyers gave contradictory statements about whether the former president wanted to continue with the same set of lawyers or not.

At the start of Wednesday’s hearing Musharraf’s lawyer Ibrahim Satti told the three member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja that his client had asked him to discontinue his arguments.

The court took a brief recess and asked Satti to seek clearer instructions as to why Musharraf had made the decision.

But when the hearings resumed Ahmed Raza Kasuri, who also represents the former military ruler, told the court that he was not aware of any instructions concerning the ending of the defence argument and requested the court to allow him time to seek further instructions.

One of the petitioners’ counsel Sheikh Ahsanuddin asked the court to clear the confusion by summoning Musharraf in the court.

But the court dismissed his plea and instead asked the lawyers of Musharraf to seek instructions.

The court adjourned the hearing over the case until Thursday.

In this matter even Musharraf is not aware what he has to do in mess of all cases.Before coming to Pakistan he was offered sweet dreams of military support and fellowships of millions of fan but here when he come, the deadly cases , angry mob and annoyed judges are there to welcome him so every thing is going odd in his case.

    • That Nazia is BS as expected from you. What angry mobs are you refering to? the bunch of lawyers whose behaviour improved tremendously after the thrashing they got in the second appearance in the ATC Pindi. Yes we today do not have an 'Adliya' its more of 'Badliya' but they too are adopting the harrassment tactics of SHOs. There is no prosecution visible; all arguments are between the bench and the defendent's lawyers. Who will judge?

  2. This is what happens when you restrict the meetings between the defendent and his lawyers.

    • lies all lies!he is fully enjoying state security and all are meeting him who really want.This big drama is being created to attract followers like you to come and show your aggressive solidarity with him But shame to people like you who cant come out of your bin for showing his public power other than throwing mud on his critics.

        • It is not flattery but some kind of vibrational awakening that your hero need your physical presence for showing the kiayani that he is popular general of public and can take top position in coming system that is being designed in GHQ.so Dont be late otherwise he will miss the train.

General Zia ul Haq then had no choice to bow and ask for mercy, so he decided to hang his benefactor like a good wahabi. Now in this case the persecuters know that Pervez Musharraf would win from Karachi and Chitral so where would it leave this gang!

A baby cries and weeps when he or she iss given an injection why because he or she feels pain on the body.When a military dictator orders or passed for hanging cases,he does not feel pain,but when Allah gives him punishment,he hides his face does not expect such re-action.So when you are any powerful post,you must go positively and decide honestly so that you may also be treated in the same way.Be-afraid of Allah and do not exceed your limits.

  5. Today's judges are the cause of most of the problems in Pakistan. They think they are untouchables. Some General needs to take over and hang a couple of them and that would staraighten out the rest of them. Musharraf is a patriot and risked his life for Pakistan and fought for Pakistan. What have the judges done for Pakistan? NOTHING.

  7. Too much power for too long has gone in Musharaf's brain, and he thinks he is god. This happens to almost all people who reached higher position by hook or crook In both India and Pakistan. It happened recently to a state minister in India when he was traveling to USA and was checked for security at. Boston airport. Even though security check is a standard procedure, this guy thought he was a god like Musharaf. Somehow these kind of people get disillusioned and then senile. Mush is in senile state of mind.
