Over 11,345 cases of measles have been reported in Punjab during the last five months with an addition of 167 new cases reported during the last 24 hours.
According to the Health Department officials, at least 72 deaths have been reported so far with most of the deaths occurring in Lahore, Gujranwala, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan and Kasur.
During the last 24 hours, around 167 cases of measles were reported from Punjab, including 46 from the city’s hospitals.
Meanwhile, Punjab Health Services Director General Dr Tanveer Ahmed appealed to the parents to get their children up to five years of age vaccinated without delay and cooperate with vaccinating teams.
