The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) organized the Prize Distribution Ceremony of Annual Sports 2013 at its girls campus.
President IIUI Prof. Dr. Ahmad Yousif Al-Draiweesh was the chief guest while Director IIUI Girls Campus Dr. Zaitoon Baghim, Student Advisor Dr. Munza Yaqoob, faculty members and students also attended.
In his keynote address, Dr. Ahmad said that IIU had always facilitated female students in all curricular, co curricular and sports activities. He said that books alone are insufficient for bodily and mental health.
He appreciated the students’ participation in the annual sports gala and assured them sporting facilities at the university will be improved.
Dr. Ahmad also lauded the organisers’ for their successful efforts.
Dr. Zaitoon thanked the President for his time and said, “in addition to formal education, sports are integral for enhancing students’ hidden capabilities.”
Earlier, Dr. Munazza Yaqoob briefed the participants about the sports competition’s activities in detail.
In the end, Dr. Ahmed distributed prizes among the position holders. Team prizes and individual medals were awarded.
BS student Faeza Rehman secured the Athlete of the Year Award.
