JUI-F attacked again, eight more killed in Hangu

At least eight people were killed and 22 others injured in a high-intensity suicide bombing targeting a public rally of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl rally in Dawaba area of Hangu on Tuesday.

JUI-F candidate Mufti Syed Janan was target of the suicide attack and was included among the injured. However, his condition is stated to be out of danger.

Per details, the JUI-F candidate for PK 43 Hangu was on a door-to-door campaign in Dawaba Bazaar along with supporters when a suicide bomber exploded himself up. The explosion caused destruction to a number of shops and vehicles in the vicinity.

Soon after the explosion, people and shopkeepers shifted the injured and bodies to Dawaba hospital. Officials said eight people were killed and 21 injured in the suicide attack.

Mufti Janan sustained minor injuries. Those injured included 10 schoolchildren who were on way home.

The officials said Janan was discharged after being administered first aide. No one claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

It was the second major terrorist attack targeting the JUI-F during a period of less then 24 hours.

A day ago, election rally of the JUI-F candidate for a National Assembly seat from Kurram Agency was attacked with an improvised explosive devise (IED), killing 25 people and injuring more then 90 others.

  1. By the level of response, it appears getting injured by falling off stage attracts more condemnation than real human beings being killed by TTP. There is seriously wrong with the Pakistani society

  2. Taliban have now started biting the very hand that has been feeding them. Initially they were trained by the army, later on they targeted army installations. Now, it is their 2nd phase and this time they will attack their mentors.
