The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has terminated the cleanliness contract for the vegetables and fruits market without making any alternative arrangements. The resultant heaps of garbage pose a serious problem for the market’s traders and customers.

General Secretary of the Union Tahir Ayub claimed that the CDA terminated the contract ten days ago without making any alternative arrangements.

He said that the despite many complaints the CDA did not pay any heed to the problem.

The market’s traders said that they would hold an anti-CDA protest if prompt action was not taken for arranging an alternative cleanliness plan for the market.
