A blast on a JUI-F rally in Hangu on Tuesday has left 12 people dead and 15 injured, local media reported.
A convoy of JUI-F candidate from PK-43 constituency, Mufti Syed Janan, was on its way from Doaba town when a suicide bomber struck the vehicle carrying the provincial election candidate, according to eyewitnesses.
Mufti Janan and two of his bodyguards were also injured in the attack and were reportedly in critical condition.
Rescue and emergency team rushed to the site of attack and the victims were shifted to nearby hospitals.
Security forces cordoned off the site of attack as a probe into the incident went underway.
A curfew was also imposed in the city.
