The district administration has launched an operation against sheesha smoking cafes. They have sealed four cafes and confiscated 18 hookahs.
Islamabad Assistant Commissioner Secretariat Nauman Yousaf, Assistant Commissioner Industrial Area Imran Ali Sultan and the assistant commissioner Shalimar police station cracked down on sheesha smoking in I-8, I-9, F-10, and in other hotels, restaurants and recreational places.
The district administration issued special directions to all restaurants owners that strict action would be taken against illegal sheesha smoking.
Smoking is strictly banned in public places such hotels, bus terminals, railway stations, car parks and hospitals.
