In order to provide security to voters, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Tuesday suggested all provincial governments to deploy at least 10 security personnel at each sensitive polling station.
An ECP official said that around 10 police officials, including paramilitary personnel, would perform security duties at every sensitive polling station.
He said that the ECP suggested provincial governments to deploy 10 security personnel at each sensitive polling station, seven at sensitive and five at normal polling stations.
The official said that 73,000 polling stations were declared sensitive and 20,000 have been declared most sensitive polling stations.
On Election Day as many as 70,000 armed forces personnel would be deployed across the country. They will be utilised as quick response force. The troops will rush to the polling stations if any emergency situation arises. While army helicopters would also provide air cover across the country.
