NP candidate escapes grenade attack

Unidentified men on Monday continued to target political parties as a convoy of another candidate was attacked in a remote area of the restive province.

Security forces said Monday’s incident took place near Turbat town in Kech district where miscreants hurled hand grenades on the convoy of National Party candidate Dr Abdul Malik Baloch who is contesting election for provincial assembly seat PB-48.

Sources said a passerby was injured when Dr. Malik’s security guard fired shots at the fleeing attackers who managed to escape from the scene.

The candidate, however, remained unhurt in the blast.
