Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Salman Bashir on Monday visited Chandigarh’s Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI) to enquire after the health of critically injured prisoner Sanaullah Ranjay.
Sanaullah continued to be “critically sick” and in “deep coma”, a medical bulletin of the PGIMER told the top Pakistani envoy during his visit.
“He continues to be critically sick and in deep coma almost in the same status as yesterday with no neurological improvement. Patient’s metabolic parameters are now settling. The arterial blood gases are satisfactorily maintained on moderate oxygen flow. He continues to be on a ventilator. His blood pressure continues to be maintained with three inotropic drugs,” SN Mathuriya, professor and head of the department of neuro-surgery told Bashir.
Talking to reporters, Bashir said the condition of the Pakistani prisoner was not satisfactory as there was no improvement in his condition.
He said Sanaullah was still on a ventilator and could not be shifted to any place because of his serious condition.
He said the Pakistani High Commission in Delhi was in contact with the Indian government and had put their demand to provide an inquiry report of this incident to Islamabad.
Pakistani diplomats also visited the comatose Pakistani prisoner on Sunday, who is being treated here after being attacked by a prisoner in a Jammu jail on Friday.
