Former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that all steps would be taken to resolve the energy crisis in the country.
He said that there was an immediate need to initiate work on water reservoir projects to bring improvement in the energy sector. Moreover, measures should be taken to address the problems of line losses and power theft.
Talking to Pakistan Television, Shahbaz said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), after coming into power, would undertake short and long term planning to produce cheap electricity.
“It would also allow import of LNG,” he added.
He said that a huge amount had been spent on different projects initiated by the previous Punjab government.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government launched several public welfare projects such as Daanish schools, medical colleges, Metro Bus Service, road networks, bridges, laptop schemes and setting up of hospitals.
He said that corruption should be eliminated at all cost so that stability in the economic sector could be maintained in a proper manner.
Replying to a question, he said that PML-N would bring great changes in the system so that the masses could avail all the necessities at their doorsteps.
He claimed to make Pakistan an Asian tiger after coming into power.
