Unknown miscreants gunned down Shakil Jan Advocate and his father on Friday and fled from the scene.
Unknown armed men opened fire at the car of Shakil who was on his way along with his father near ICI Bridge of Karachi.
As a result of firing, Shakil Jan Advocate died instantly while his father Ali Ahmed Jan sustained bullet injuries.
Police and rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the body and the injured to a hospital, but the later succumbed to wounds.
Police claimed the incident was a result of targeted killing and apparently the deceased’s guard was also involved in the conspiracy.
The Karachi Bar Association (KBA) condemned the tragic incident and announced to go on strike across the country against terrorism which had claimed several lives during the past few days.
