Gas supply was suspended to parts of Balochistan on Saturday after Sui Southern Gas Company’s gas pipeline exploded in Pat Feeder area near Dera Murad Jamali.
Official sources revealed that an increase in gas pressure caused the explosion in the pipeline supplying gas to Quetta and other parts of the province from Shikarpur.
Unknown men had attempted to blow up gas pipeline in the same area one month ago. The plan was foiled, police sources said.
Local administration, along with bomb disposal squad (BDS) reached the scene and cordoned off the area. Officials said that the repair work would begin after security clearance was issued.
