CID police on Saturday claimed to have arrested five terrorists of the banned militant outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from different areas of the metropolis.
According to SSP Chaurdhry Aslam, the CID police arrested the accused from Kati Pahari and Shahra-e-Noor Jahan areas. He said the accused were affiliated with TTP Fazlullah group.
The SSP also said that a huge amount of explosive material was recovered from the possession of the accused. In addition, pressure cooker bomb, cracker bomb, hand grenades and other equipments used in making remote control bomb were also recovered during the raids.
According to initial investigation, the accused were involved in the killings of police personnel, polio workers and in various incidents of bank heists.
