A Rawal Town Municipal Administration (RTMA) raiding team on Friday removed 70 political banners and 50 hoardings that exceeded the allowed size on Friday, as directed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
RTMA Administrator Saif Anwar Jappa warned political parties that their candidates will face criminal proceedings for illegal wall chalking and oversized banners and hoardings, adding that cases concerning disqualification of candidates for code of conduct violations will be forwarded to the ECP.
The operation will continue daily till May 10.
The town authority also conducted an operation against illegal encroachments. They issued challan forms to 58 shopkeepers and confiscated four truckloads of their goods.
