Police holds second general hold up

On the orders of Punjab Inspector General of Police Aftab Sultan second surprise general hold up was organised by the police across the province.

According to details during this hold up police arrested 841 hardened and most wanted POs and 226 court absconders across the province.

Similarly, under Prohibition Ordinance, 202 cases were registered against the violators and 29 kgs of charas, 2,352 gms of heroin were seized. During this hold up, 588 accused have been arrested and 398 cases have been registered, while 394 illegal weapons have been recovered from them.

Similarly, during this hold up, 14,869 motorcycles were checked by the police among them 2,378 illegal and without number plates motorcycles were impounded in various police stations of the province. During this operation total 6,014 Vehicles were checked, among them 52 suspected and without number plates motor vehicles were impounded by the police.

The provincial police chief has directed the field police officers to remain in stand by position for holding up such surprise operations to curb the criminals and terrorist activities before time.
