Fearing deterioration in law and order in Sindh, the caretaker Sindh government has requested the government to send in army so that elections in the province can be held peacefully.
“The army has been summoned under Article 245 of the constitution of the country,” the Interior Ministry of Sindh said in a statement on Thursday.
The troops will also be responsible for transportation of ballot papers allover the province.
Earlier, 17 political parties from Sindh had called for calling in the army for peaceful holding of elections.
