SC gives KP govt 24 hours to produce missing persons’ record

The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday allowed 24 hours to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to present record of two missing persons, while stating that no innocent person could be allowed to be kept under detention.

The court also ordered the KP chief secretary and PATA secretary to appear before it.

A three-member bench of SC headed by Chief Justice (CJ) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took up the case for hearing on Thursday.

The court was told during the hearing of the case that record pertaining to missing persons, including Ibrahim, could not become available, therefore, more time be allowed.

The court observed no innocent person could be allowed to be kept under detention.

“If there is evidence against any one then case be registered against him and proceedings be initiated,” the court remarked

The court also ordered that missing persons be produced before it.

The hearing of the case was adjourned until today.
