PM told about security measures taken for polls

The Interior Ministry on Thursday apprised caretaker Prime Minister Hazar Khan Khoso that it was coordinating with the provincial governments to maintain law and order during the run-up to elections and on Election Day, May 11.
The prime minister was told about the steps during a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s House to review the arrangements made so far for holding free, fair and transparent elections in the country.
Khoso directed the interior minister to provide adequate security to political leaders and candidates. The PM also directed Information Minister Arif Nizami to ensure dissemination of information regarding arrangements made by the caretaker government to ensure security and to maintain law and order during the general elections.
