The tripartite alliance of the PPP, the MQM and the ANP on Thursday said the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was responsible for taking care of the law and order in Karachi during the elections.
In a joint press conference, the leaders of the three parties said military operations that were launched during previous regimes could not restore peace in the city.
MQM leader Raza Haroon said the elections were not their destination and all parties of the country should have been united against terrorism.
ANP Sindh Chapter chief Shahi Syed said all political parties would have to sit together to find a solution for the worsening law and order in Karachi.
