A PML-N provincial assembly candidate from Sheikhupura district was critically injured by another leader of his party after the two got into a scuffle at a public rally addressed by party chief Nawaz Sharif here on Tuesday.
Per details, followers of PML-N’s National and provincial assembly candidates for NA-167 Sheikhupura constituency went hammers and tongs at each other after the PML-N chief ended his address to the rally.
PML-N aspirant for the National Assembly, Javed Latif and provisional assembly candidate Arif Khan Sandila exchanged harsh words after Nawaz’s address, following which supporters of both leaders got into a fistfight with each other. They also hurled steel chairs and empty soda bottles at each other during the scuffle. Several people were injured as a result and were rushed to nearby hospitals.
Later, Javed’s brother Munwar Latif reportedly abducted Arif Khan with the help of his accomplices and subjected him to torture at an unidentified location.
