Senate Chairman Syed Nayyer Hussain Bokhari strongly condemned a suspected arson attack on the Independent News Pakistan (INP) that gutted out its office on Sunday morning.
According to a press release, Bokhari expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the staff and journalists working for the INP. “We have always been supportive of an independent media”, he said, adding that the media enjoyed complete freedom in Pakistan.
Bokhari said an arson attack on the INP office was an unfortunate incident. He said such cowardly acts were done by forces of oppression and extremist mindsets. He condemned the recent wave of violence in the country. “We must join hands to defeat these elements, which are perpetuating extremist, terrorist and intolerant,” he added.
