Islamabad Zoo without lions, leopards, and giraffes for years

The Islamabad Zoo is still waiting to have a lion, leopards, snakes and a giraffe while the authority concerned has failed to meet this need of the zoo over years.

The zoo gives a miserable look as many cages are without animals and birds for the last several years.

A group of visitors, disappointed at seeing empty cages, said the zoo should have been a model for other cities of the country but it gave a pathetic look.

When contacted a CDA official, he said the authority was well aware of the situation and was working on bringing more animals and birds in the zoo. He said the CDA would award a tender to contractors for the renovation of the zoo.

The CDA official also said that a project to set up a new zoo was also in progress. β€œIn that zoo we will have a maximum number of birds and animals,” he added.
