Election camps set up by different political parties in residential areas of the federal capital are irking residents. Huge gatherings, slogans and music have become a menace for the citizens.

Talking to APP, Furqan Ahmed, a resident of G-10 Sector, said that camps had been established in different streets and markets without the permission of the authorities concerned.

He said the songs and slogans were disturbing children, students as well as the elderly.

Another resident, Aalia Malik said that it was impossible for women to pass through the streets due to huge gatherings.

The residents demanded the authorities concerned to take an appropriate action against the illegal election camps.

When contacted, an official of Capital Development Authority (CDA) said that they had already taken action to remove election camps from residential areas and green belts.
