ECP declares over 21,000 polling stations sensitive

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has categorised over 21,000 polling stations across the country as ‘sensitive’ and ‘highly sensitive’.
According to sources, a comprehensive strategy has been evolved to ensure peace on the polling day. Strict action would be taken against violators of the code of conduct.
Per figures provided by the commission, 11,053 polling stations have been declared sensitive while 10,237 have been declared as highly sensitive.
Sindh has been declared as the most sensitive province because of the number of highly sensitive and sensitive polling stations there, which total 4,629 and 3,621 respectively.
In Punjab, 2,911 polling stations have been declared as sensitive whereas 2,617 polling stations are highly sensitive.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,980 polling stations are sensitive whereas 1,056 are highly sensitive.
In Balochistan, 1,451 polling stations are sensitive and 1,071 are highly sensitive.
Similarly in FATA, 510 polling stations have been declared as sensitive while 459 have been declared as highly sensitive.
In the federal capital, 11 polling stations are sensitive while 10 have been declared as highly sensitive.
Pakistan Army soldiers would be deployed at the most sensitive polling stations in consultation with respective provincial governments.
