The head of the technology giant has promised the winner of a charity auction the chance to sit down with him for an hour at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. Bidding for the prize, listed on the New York-based Charitybuzz website, has risen to $36,999 (£24,000) and all proceeds go to The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights. The auction, which has an estimated value of $50,000, has 20 days left to run. The lucky winning bidder is allowed to take one guest to meet Mr Cook, and the terms of the auction state that both people must “conduct themselves appropriately when attending an experience won at Charitybuzz. Polite manners and respect for the generous donor and adherence to any rules or parameters are a must.” Whoever wins will also be “subject to security screening”. Other auctions for the charity feature stars such as actor Robert De Niro, director Francis Ford Coppola and comedian Robin Williams. “The RFK Center’s annual auctions empower our human rights advocacy around the world, from courtrooms to classrooms, from Cambodia to California,” said Kerry Kennedy, president of the RFK Center.
