The three-day gathering of Tablighi Jamaat started in Sector I-11 near the Carriage Factory in tight security on Saturday.
A contingent of 700 police personnel along with the Rangers has been deployed to secure the religious gathering. Participants are frisked with a hand-held metal detector as they approach the gathering while archway metal detectors are also installed at the entrance gate.
Luggage of the participants is being checked by organisers of the programme to avoid any untoward incident while four teams of the Rangers are patrolling the area.
