The Punjab Teachers’ Union (PTU) has expressed concerns over assigning multiple duties to teachers at different polling stations that they are supposed to perform simultaneously.
The PTU central President Syed Sajjad Akbar Kazmi said teachers were supposed to perform their duties at four polling stations at the same time. He said returning officers were threatening teachers of dire consequences, including sacking from their jobs, if they did not perform the assigned tasks. He demanded that the caretaker government look into the matter and assign duties to the teachers that are realistically doable.
