Seven Mominabad blast victims laid to rest

The funeral prayers of seven victims, out of the total 11 who lost their lives in Friday night’s blast in Mominabad, was offered here on Saturday.
It should be mentioned here that a bomb went off near the Awami National Party (ANP) office when party candidate Bashir Jan was about to address a public gathering in Mominabad area of Orangi Town.
As a result of the blast, at least 11 people including a child were killed and over 55 others sustained injuries.
The funeral prayers of seven victims including Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai’s elder brother Dr Azizuddin Shamzai were offered at Shahi Masjid in Mominabad this morning.
Hundreds of people including ANP and JUI leaders, party activists and local residents attended the funeral prayers.
Meanwhile, ANP observed a day of mourning against the deadly attack.
ANP Sindh chapter leader Shahi Syed appealed to people of the metropolis to mark the day of mourning peacefully by keeping their businesses open and ensuring availability of transport on the roads.
Condemning what he termed a cowardly assault, he said that such attacks could not restrain ANP from its struggle. He also advised party workers to avoid provocations and to donate blood to the injured.
