PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week

Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC) Sunsilk Fashion Week 2013 kicked off on Friday with a bang. The second day (Saturday), of the four-day event, will feature the following designers.

SHEHLA CHATOOR
BRAND PHILOSOPHY:
Focusing on the revival and use of age old art forms and embroidery techniques to create ensembles that can be passed on from generation to generation.
The brand is equally known for its edgy, trendy and glamorous western wear and accessories.
INSPIRATION:
The Renaissance Era: cameo paintings, architectural elements, jewelry and ceramics stemming from Greek antiquity.
TRENDS TO LOOK OUT FOR:
n Signature Prints
n Grecian silhouettes
n Embellished forms of Metallic emblems
n Amalgamation of silks with metallic mesh, exotic leather, entwined with metal chains, logos and Grecian coins
n Gladiator sandals

SOMAL HALEPOTO
BRAND PHILOSOPHY
To create fresh, chic and sophisticated ensembles for the everyday woman.
INSPIRATION:
Somal Halepoto has created a delicate and unique collection inspired by the fresh and crisp feeling of spring. The line consists of soft pastel hues in blue, pink and a mix of bold accented candy pink, with a touch of the classic black and white. Keeping the dainty and feminine aesthetic of women in mind, Somal Halepoto brings to you the “Bahaar” collection.

AYESHA HASHWANI
BRAND PHILOSOPHY:
AFH is a label that balances comfort with luxe. I see the entire picture from head to toe, from function to aesthetic. Femininity, elegance and timelessness are the basics of my design philosophy.
INSPIRATION:
Inspiration is the upcoming season! Total holiday mood and hence have designed this Pret Resort Collection.

NICKIE NINA
BRAND PHILOSOPHY:
To consistently design a collection each season that is contemporary and chic, yet timeless in its appeal.
INSPIRATION:
Byzantine and Medieval heraldry with the Mod movement of the 60s

FEEHA JAMSHED
BRAND PHILOSOPHY:
The label lives and breathes three simple rules:
n To bring Pakistani fashion to the rest of the world by taking inspiration from all the corners of Pakistan and create a Luxury Retail brand which anyone can afford.
n To continuously reinvent itself by creating trends instead of following them and challenging what people consider as feminine norms.
n To give back to the community and its people by donating a portion of all its proceeds and actively participating in charitable work.
INSPIRATION:
The freedom of women of the late 50s and 60s and their influence on the 90s. The silhouettes are influenced by the three decades of women discovering themselves. This collection is about celebrating women by using various textures of fabric and making menswear more feminine.
