Pir Syed Ghulam Jalaluddin Gillani, the spiritual custodian of the Golra Sharif shrine, has announced his full support for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidates Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, contesting from NA-48, and Ghulam Sarwar Khan, contesting from NA-53, in the forthcoming elections.
Gillani made this announcement in a press conference held along with Hashmi and Khan on Saturday. Pir Syed Ghulam Nizam-ud-Din Gillani Jami, Sahibzada Pir Syed Ghulam Meher Mahyuddin Gillani Roomi, Pir Syed Abdul Khanan, Pir Syed Ata-ul-Hassan, Pir Syed Barkat Hussain, Pir Syed Zia-ul-Hassan Gillani, Pir Syed Ashaq Asrar, Pir Syed Shah Samad, Pir Syed Mureed Hassan, Pir Syed Ishtiaq, Pir Akhtar and hundreds of their followers were present on the occasion.
PTI central leaders Dr Shahzad Wasim, Ali Awan, Raja Khurram Nawaz, Amir Mughal, Sajid Malik and Wajid Bukhari were also present in the press conference.
Gillani, his family members and their followers vowed to fully support the PTI candidates in the elections.
Jami urged his followers to make an all-out effort for the success of the candidates supported by the custodians of the sacred shrine.
Hashmi and Khan said that they would defeat opportunist politicians in the upcoming elections with the support of the spiritual custodians of Golra Sharif.
