Khosa stands up against president’s insult

Former Punjab governor and Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Secretary General Sardar Latif Khan Khosa on Thursday demanded of the Election Commission of Pakistan and caretaker government to take notice of the insulting comments against President Asif Ali Zardari.

Khosa, in a meeting with the PPP candidates from Lahore at PPP Punjab media office, said that the president had been barred from participating in the politics but the opponents were commenting on the office of the president which was a clear violation of the constitution.

Khosa demanded the transfer of the Punjab education secretary.

He further demanded of the ECP to implement Articles 218 to 220 to provide security to the political parties and candidates as some parties including the PPP, ANP and MQM were being targeted at several places. He alleged the PPP was not being provided a level playing field which created the impression of partial role of the institutions.

Khosa said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Zardari Bhutto would lead the election campaign which had been started from the day of the death anniversary of late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and he would address the public gathering soon. PPP leaders Samina Khalid Ghurki, Khurram Latif Khosa, Faiza Malik and others were also present on the ocassion.
