Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Friday that fair elections under the current caretaker setup would be a miracle.
Talking to reporters, Nisar said the PML-N had no objections over the transfer of the chief secretary, the inspector general of police, and other top officials in the Punjab. “But we are against the people who have been posted on recommendation of the Pakistan People’s Party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q),” he said.
Nisar said the PML-N would win the elections with the public’s support. “The PML-N’s agenda will remain the same whatever the number of seats we get,” he added.
“Imran Khan cannot challenge Nawaz Sharif who has been the prime minister for two terms. He is only challenging to raise his political stature,” Nisar said, adding that the election contest was between the PML-N and the PPP.
Nisar also said the caretaker setup was the “PPP’s B-team” and the government was still influenced by the Presidency.
