Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Arif Nizami on Friday said participation of nationalist leaders and other political parties in the 2013 elections would bring peace and prosperity in Balochistan.
Talking to Balochistan caretaker Chief Minister Nawab Ghous Baksh Barozai during his visit to the CM Secretariat, Nizami said, “The role of the caretaker government in holding elections in Balochistan with all parties, including nationalists, on board would bring a positive change in the province. The electioneering process would pave the way for reconciliation and amicable solution of the Balochistan issue.”
Caretaker Federal Minister for Railways Dr Abdul Malik Kasi, Federal Information Secretary Agha Nadeem and Balochistan Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh were also present on the occasion.
The information minister said in order to facilitate people in rural parts of Balochistan, new radio transmitters would be installed and transmission of PTV Bolan would be expanded to far-flung areas of the province.
Stressing on the need for maintaining an environment of positive completion, Nizami said new licenses would be issued to FM channels to strengthen the information system.
Earlier, the Balochistan CM shared measures taken by the provincial government for holding peaceful elections in the province with the federal minister. “Fool-proof security arrangements were in place to conduct polls in a peaceful manner,” said Barozai.
