Federal Minister for National Heritage and Integration Shahzada Jamal Nazir has suggested the establishment of arts and crafts schools through private and public partnerships for the promotion of country’s cultural heritage.
While talking in a meeting on Lok Virsa, Nazir said there was a need to gain market access for sponsorships to revive handicrafts. “Roads, streets and other popular places should be named after artisans to recognise their skills,” he suggested.
Nazir directed authorities concerned to take every possible measure for the projection of country’s true identity through the promotion of cultural heritage.
The minister lauded Lok Virsa for its efforts in promoting cultural harmony among the federating units by organising national and community-based activities.
Lok Virsa Executive Director Khalid Javaid informed the minister that a road had been named after folksinger Tufail Niazi.
