Second death anniversary of ace comedian and actor Moin Akhtar was observed on Monday. He is remembered as a versatile artist and a very noble human being by numerous fans and colleagues in the country. Akhtar stepped into the show business in the sixties and continued ruling various fields of performing arts with his spontaneous performances and intelligent interaction with others. Akhtar was born in Karachi and his mother tongue was Urdu but he performed with command in many other languages including Bangali, Sindhi, Memoni, and Gujrati. During his career, spread over half a century, Akhtar performed over 1,000 different characters successfully on television and stage. He also hosted many television talk shows which were tremendously popular with his fans and viewers owing mainly to his witty remarks and subtle references. He was a singer also and used to sing parodies. Moin Akhtar was suffering from a heart disease during the last days of his life that eventually lead to his death on April 22, 2012.
