Former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf on Sunday said all steps taken on November 3, 2007 were taken after a proper consultation process, a private TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the content of a statement recorded with police authorities whose copy was obtained by the TV channel, Musharraf said he stood by the televised speech aired on the evening of November 3, 2007 in which he had declared a state of emergency in Pakistan.
“All of my steps were aimed at betterment of the country,” the former president claimed.
Moderator has not been posting my comment for the last three days and I am protesting about it.
No difference between 1999 and 2007 which was a continuation. If 1999 was legal according to the Chief Justice then 2007 was too. He pretends he can simply apologize for allowing 1999 and then try to disqualify Musharraf in 2007. The Chief Justice is responsible for the current mess, not Musharraf.
Thank you General for timely statement. May it not be 'The wolf and the lamb' story.
