The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday issued notice to Punjab government seeking its reply over measures being taken to curb the measles outbreak which has claimed over 50 lives in Punjab since January, a television channel reported.
The notice was issued in a case filed by a local lawyer. In his petition, he stated that provincial health department has not taken sufficient steps to eliminate the disease which caused deaths of children and the number of affectees is growing day-by-day.
After today’s hearing, the court issued notice to Punjab health department ordering it to explain its position and apprise the court of the present situation.
There were cases reported in the UK including one adult death. Public health departments are looking into this. None of the Crown Courts, Majistrates Courts and Old Bailey (Central Criminal Courts) in London have issued any such notices. The courts in te UK are more concerned in dealing with the Criminal & Civil Cases before them.
