Two workers of Awami National Party (ANP) were shot dead and another injured in Pishin District of Balochistan on Sunday.
Police sources said that gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on the ANP workers in the Killi Karbala area of Pishin. As a result two workers were killed on the spot whereas another suffered serious wounds.
One suspect was arrested on the spot and shifted to Pishin town for interrogation, police sources added.
The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Pishin for postmortem.
This incident has come hours after a low intensity blast during National Party’s (NP) rally in Turbat. The rally was led by NP chief Dr Abdul Malik Baloch.
NP Secretary-General Mir Tahir Bizenjo said that there was no loss of life in the incident and the party chief and other leaders were safe.
