PTI senses foreign influence in plot to defer polls

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) Central Deputy Secretary General Imran Ismail on Thursday held the interim government and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) responsible for the worsening state of affairs in the country before the upcoming general elections.
In a statement issued here, Ismail said that global players may attempt to delay polls by promoting lawlessness and nationwide disorder.
He demanded from the Supreme Court and the Election Commission of Pakistan to take realistic steps regarding interim government’s below par performance.
Ismail stated this while addressing PTI candidates at the party’s Central Media Cell, where Subhan Ali Sahil, Ashraf Qureshi, Zubair Khan, Samar Ali Khan, Sultan Ahmad, Humayun Khan Swati, Zareena Sarwar, Israr Abbasi, Erum Butt, Jawad Ahmad Jelani and Dr Saeed Khan Afridi were in attendance along with media coordinator Jamal Siddiqui.
Ismail further said, “Strategies are being formulated to sabotage the election campaigns. It is the government’s responsibility to protect the candidates and their supporters or else law enforcement agencies and the government would be considered as supporters of the conspirators.”
Moreover, he said that people wanted to cast their votes for “Naya Pakistan” in the upcoming elections and PTI would not accept deferral in this regard at any cost.
