The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) on Saturday delivered final electoral rolls to all four provinces and FATA.
A NADRA spokesperson said the authority under the directives of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the first time in the electoral history of the country included pictures of each and every voter on computerised electoral rolls.
He said the step has been taken in light of complaints about various discrepancies in electoral rolls due to fake‚ multiple or duplicate entries in previous voters’ lists.
A total of 86‚189‚751 voters have been registered in the current electoral rolls.
Meanwhile‚ NADRA Chairman Tariq Malik said registration of women had almost doubled in last four years for the first time.
