Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Mian Nawaz Sharif on Saturday said that he could forgive former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf for the coup d’état of 1992, but the law did not forgive criminals so easily.
“The one who sent us to jails is himself is in jail now,” Nawaz said while addressing an election rally.
He said he could forgive Musharraf but the law did not forgive criminals and by violating the constitution, Musharraf was a criminal. Sharif said the people had seen the fate of those who had dared to violate the Constitution.
Furthermore, the PML-N president said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) could have solved the problem of load shedding if sincere efforts had been dedicated to the national issue. He criticised the PPP government for letting the country down in every department of governance.
“Today masses are living under miserable conditions due to the defective policies of the PPP government,” he alleged.
He said people of the country would hold corrupt leaders accountable for all their actions that had pushed the country further into darkness.
He promised that after coming to power, PML-N would solve all national problems currently facing Pakistan. He further promised economic revival of the country. The PML-N chief vowed to give loans to unemployed youth.
Nawaz Sharif urged the people to change the destiny of the country by electing honest people.
