The caretaker Minister Overseas Pakistanis Barrister Feroz Jamal Shah Kakakhel seems to be taking good care of himself. According to local media reports, the minister has eleven government vehicles at his disposal including one bullet-proof car and two double cabin cars.
Kakakhel had ordered the ministry to provide him with the vehicles of his choice within ‘15 minutes’, going as far as procuring one from the ministry of human resource development, as it was not available with his own ministry.
The demand for a fleet of cars was made after the minister had already shocked the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) on April 5 by demanding that new pots, pans and other kitchen utensils worth Rs.60,000 be delivered to his house.
The minister is also said to be involved in protecting ‘friendly officers’ from a high level inquiry committee constituted to probe into alleged irregularities in OPF. In this regard, the minister issued orders on April 10 to repatriate Director General Human Resource & Administration Syed Khalid Ali Raza Gardezi to his parent department.
Reports claimed that it is the same person who had been working on Supreme Court directives to implement the findings of the inquiry report that dates back to 2000. The task was supposed to be completed on October 23, 2012 but the court gave extra time till May 25 for the implementation. The move may cause further delay in implementation of court orders.
Why is anyone surprised? Every minister is out to loot the state.
I think he will be minister for the next few months till new govt is in.
He should be ashamed of himself and jump in the lake.
Pakistan and overseas Pakistani will be better without him.
Pakistani is the name of corruption. Corruption is normal all over the world but with some limits where there is interest of country or nation but Pakistani can even sell his homeland nation everything for money as there is no limit.
