The City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) has planned to acquire close circuit television (CCTV) cameras on rent to install them at 93 polling stations that have been declared sensitive in the upcoming elections.

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Arshad Mahmood Langrial said that a letter had been sent to the Punjab Home Department for the issuance of a grant of Rs 2,325,000 so that CCTV cameras could be installed on rent in all seven tehsils of the district to maintain law and order on the day of election. “The city government will start installing CCTV cameras at polling stations as soon as it gets funds from the Home Department,” Langrial said.
