Measles outbreak: Four die in Upper Dir and Nowshera, several others in KP affected

After Punjab, measles gripped different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) resulting in the death of four children while over a dozen others were affected.

According to details, in Nihag area of Upper Dir, KP two brothers, six-year-old Saniyal and four-year-old Hammed died of measles while Sapna, Lubna and Saman were under treatment at a local hospital.

In Khaisra area of Nowshera district, nine children of a family were hospitalised after being affected by measles and four-year-old Aleena expired during treatment.

Abdul Rehman, aged seven, Waleed Ahmed and one-year-old Tayyeba were under treatment in a hospital of Peshawar. Five children affected of measles were under treatment in Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar.

Meanwhile, two-year-old Umer Yaseen hailing from Shahdara area of Lahore affected of the disease expired in Mayo Hospital raising death toll in Punjab to 50.
